§ Dr. Dickson Mabon
I beg to move Amendment No. 46, in page 23, line 2, after '1860', insert'and section 5 of the Customs and Inland Revenue Act 1883'.Perhaps it would be convenient to discuss at the same time Amendment No. 70, which is on the same point.
The Customs and Inland Revenue Act of 1883 instituted a short period game licence in addition to the annual licences specified in the 1860 Act. The short period licence is valid for 14 days, specified in the licence, and the current fee is £1.
§ Amendment No. 70 allows us to vary the fee. We have put forward these Amendments at this stage to correct an omission from the list of enactments which specify licence fees.1455
