§ Mr. BowdenThe number of lavatories at present available within the Palace of Westminster fulfils the requirements of the Offices, Shops and Railway Premises Act. During the last year additional lavatories have been provided for both men and women, and further lavatories will be provided in the new Star Chamber block.
§ Mr. WellbelovedIs my right hon. Friend aware that for many hon., right hon., learned and gallant Members the only place where they fully understand the procedure of this place is in this particular house?
§ Sir J. HobsonIn view of his Answer, does the right hon. Gentleman regard this place as an office or a talking shop?
§ Mr. BowdenThe right hon. and learned Member will be aware that this place, as he called it, is not covered by the Offices, Shops and Railway Premises Act but we try to conform to the conditions laid down in that Act.
§ Dr. David KerrCan my right hon. Friend say whether the Act permits the continual misnomer of a lavatory by the title "Members only," which is often misleading for lady Members?
