asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will introduce permissive legislation, similar to that permitting trustee savings banks to issue cheques to their depositors, permitting trustee savings banks to offer unit trust investment.

The whole idea of a trustee savings bank unit trust, including the possible need for legislation, is under consideration.
