HC Deb 07 July 1966 vol 731 c654
10. Mr. Moonman

asked the First Secretary of State and Secretary of State for Economic Affairs what inquiries are at present being undertaken by the National Economic Development Council in following upManagement Recruitment and Development, published in February, 1965.

Mr. Albu

No general inquiries are being made at present by the National Economic Development Council, but several of the Economic Development Committees are giving special attention to questions of management education, development and techniques.

Mr. Moonman

Although I appreciate that statement, would my hon. Friend consider that industrial efficiency may be stimulated by rather more managerial development? Would he not consider the possibility of regional surveys as well as industrial surveys?

Mr. Albu

What my hon. Friend says is correct. We are making further studies of the availability of management education throughout the country.
