HC Deb 15 February 1966 vol 724 c1104
Q1. Mr. Peyton

asked the Prime Minister if he will take steps to appoint as a second Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry of Power a member of the House of Commons.

The Prime Minister (Mr. Harold Wilson)

No, Sir.

Mr. Peyton

Does not the Prime Minister think that his right hon. Friend is in serious need of assistance? Will he explain to the House why the Government have rejected what he himself described as a national fuel policy in favour of the much criticised policy which was followed by the former Administration?

The Prime Minister

That is not the position as put forward by my right hon. Friend. I am asked here, as I always am by hon. Members opposite, to increase the number of Ministers. If I thought that my right hon. Friend had any formidable opposition to face, I might consider it.
