HC Deb 24 November 1964 vol 702 cc1081-2
Q1. Mr. A. Royle

asked the Prime Minister if he will make a statement on the policy of Her Majesty's Government in regard to the sale of Buccaneer aircraft to South Africa.

The Prime Minister (Mr. Harold Wilson)

I hope to make a statement tomorrow.

Mr. Royle

Is the Prime Minister aware that this statement will be welcomed in the country in view of the grave uncertainty which has been caused to the aircraft industry due to the delay in taking a decision on this matter?

The Prime Minister

I suppose that whether it is welcome or not depends on what it says.
