§ 16. Mr. Boydenasked the Minister of Health how many houses owned by the hospital authorities do not conform to the standards now prescribed for a local authority house.
§ Mr. BraineSuch standards relate to the construction of new local authority houses. The construction of hospital houses matches these standards.
§ Mr. BoydenThe Joint Parliamentary Secretary knows that there are a good many hospital houses that are not really satisfactory, and should be brought up to date. Will he do something about this by circularising the boards to see that standards are more in conformity with modern trends?
§ Mr. BraineMy right hon. Friend has already done something about it. For existing hospitals, he has asked boards to conform within a reasonable time with the standards set out in the Housing Act.
