§ Mr. WarbeyOn a point of order. On Thursday, the Leader of the House undertook to convey to his colleagues the Foreign Secretary and the Secretary of State for Air my request that a statement should be made to the House in answer to Questions about an incident in which a wing commander of the Royal Air Force met his death while engaged in military operations in South Vietnam, an area where we have no co-belligerent status.
I wonder whether a reply is now to be given, or a statement made, in answer to Oral Question No. 55 and Written Question No. 32.
§ Mr. SpeakerI am asked about a point of order. I do not know anything about that.
§ Mr. WarbeyOn another point of order. As the matter contained in the Questions raises a matter which may well be of urgent public importance, may I have your Ruling, Sir, that if I have Written Answers to these two Questions I shall not be debarred from raising the matter under Standing Order No. 9 tomorrow?
§ Mr. SpeakerI can consider that only when an application is made for me to rule upon a suggestion that we are involved with the Standing Order. I cannot rule about it now.
