Resolved, That, for the purposes of any Act of the present Session to empower the Minister of Transport to levy tolls in respect of the use of a new road which crosses the rivers Severn and Wye, to enable that Minister, in relation to that new road, to impose prohibitions, restrictions and other requirements for the purpose of preventing obstruction and for the protection of property and otherwise, to provide for the extinguishment of any franchise to operate a ferry across the river Severn in the vicinity of the new road, and to enable compensation to be paid to persons operating any such ferry, it is expedient to authorise the payment out of moneys provided by Parliament of any expenses incurred by the Minister of Transport in consequence of any provisions of the said Act of the present Session.—[Mr, Swingler.]
