asked the Minister of Aviation whether he will now announce the name of the next chairman of British European Airways.

I have no statement to make as yet.

Mr. Lee

Can the right hon. Gentleman give us an idea of the criteria which he will use? Will great experience in the aviation industry, for instance, be one of the obvious criteria which he will take into account, and can he assure us that the views of B.E.A. management itself will be taken into consideration before an announcement is made?

Naturally, I take note of what the hon. Gentleman says. I am not myself prepared to issue an operational requirement.
