HC Deb 29 July 1963 vol 682 cc38-9
Mr. Parkin

On a point of order. Have you had any request from the President of the Board of Trade to answer my Question No. 87, Mr. Speaker?

Mr. Speaker

No, I have not.

Mr. Parkin

Further to that point of order. Could you help me in my difficulty, Mr. Speaker? With the greatest desire to help the President of the Board of Trade, when I saw him last week, and submitted certain evidence to him, I offered to postpone this Question from day to day until he was ready to give an answer in the House, for it was rather important that I should be able to ask supplementary questions and that, if it appeared that his powers were not adequate to deal with the type of evidence which I submitted, he should seek further powers.

By what I hope is an accident, I have lost the opportunity of postponing the Question which must now be answered in written form today. Have I any remedy, or any way in which to get the President of the Board of Trade to give that assurance?

Mr. Speaker

It does not raise any point of order for me.
