§ 30. Sir R. Nugentasked the Minister of Transport if he has yet appointed the Committee to advise him on the regulation of motoring events on public highways; and what it its composition.
§ Mr. MarplesYes, Sir. My noble Friend, Lord Chesham, will be the Chairman of the Committee. With permission, I will circulate a list of the members in the Official Report.
§ Sir R. NugentWhilst welcoming the formation of the advisory committee under my noble Friend, may I ask if my right hon. Friend is aware that there is still considerable concern about unregulated motor car and motor cycle rallies which cause a great deal of dis- 1458 turbance in the country? When can he make the necessary order to set up a national scheme to control these unregulated rallies? Is he aware that the R.A.C. and the A.C.U., with wide experience of these rallies, would be willing to give him every help in this matter?
§ Mr. MarplesI shall certainly consider that proposal.
