HC Deb 11 February 1963 vol 671 cc925-6
22. Mr. Lipton

asked the Lord Privy Seal what action he took following the protest he received from the Czech Ambassador in London regarding a microphone discovered in his desk; and what was discovered by the engineers and detectives whom he sent to examine the microphone.

Mr. P. Thomas

No such protest has been received.

Mr. Lipton

May I thank the hon. Gentleman for that reply, which indicates that the report which appeared in the Sunday Telegraph of 3rd February last is completely without foundation? Will the hon. Gentleman dissociate himself from this irresponsible attempt to create ill feeling between Her Majesty's Government and the Czechoslovak Government—

Mr. Speaker

Order. There is no Ministerial duty on the Joint Under-Secretary of State to dissociate himself from reports he did not create.
