§ Mr. ErrollI am aware of some reduction in the numbers employed in the Burntisland shipyards in the course of this year, but there has fortunately been no corresponding increase in unemployment. If all goes well the advance factory at Donibristle should be ready for occupation by the middle of next year.
§ Mr. GourlayIs the right hon. Gentleman aware that the local population is very largely dependent on the Burntisland shipyard? In view of the present state of the shipbuilding industry, will he give an undertaking that the greatest 1720 possible inducements will be given to industry to occupy the factory at Donibristle when it is ready?
Mr. EnrollWe shall certainly do our best to secure early occupation of the factory at Donibristle. It is encouraging to find that unemployment in the Burntisland shipyard area has not increased.
