HC Deb 17 December 1962 vol 669 cc880-1
34. Mr. H. Hynd

asked the Minister of Health whether, in the absence of facilities for curing multiple sclerosis in this country, he will assist patients to get treatment by the Le Gac method in Belgium.

Mr. Braine

No, Sir.

Mr. Hynd

If this treatment is not available in this country, are the sufferers from this disease simply to be left with no cure at all? Will the Minister stretch a point and try something which is apparently available just across the Channel?

Mr. Braine

Similar methods to Dr. Le Gac's could be used in this country if doctors wished to use them. It is not for my right hon. Friend to arrange for a specific form of treatment to be given. This is a matter for the doctors.
