HC Deb 29 November 1961 vol 650 cc410-1
8. Mr. Cronin

asked the Lord Privy Seal if he will publish the recent correspondence between Her Majesty's Government and the Government of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics on the situation in South Vietnam.

Mr. Heath

I would refer the hon. Gentleman to the Answer I gave to the hon. Gentleman the Member for Lewisham, South (Mr. C. Johnson) on 15th November.

Mr. Cronin

While I am grateful that the right hon. Gentleman has so promptly complied with the request to answer the Question on the Order Paper, may I ask him if he will direct his future endeavours to two serious dangers? These are, first, the grave and immediate risk of a war like the Korean War breaking out in South Vietnam, and, secondly, the continuous absorption of the free people of South East Asia by Communist forces, which constitutes a threat not only to our friends there but to Commonwealth communications.

Mr. Heath

I agree about the serious nature of the situation in South Vietnam. I am answering a Question a little later about it.
