HC Deb 07 November 1961 vol 648 c774
8. Mr. Bullard

asked the Postmaster-General whether he will arrange for a later time for the acceptance of letters at King's Lynn General Post Office.

Miss Pike

The posting arrangements at King's Lynn Post Office are being reviewed, and I shall be glad to look into any particular point which is troubling my hon. Friend if he will let me have details.

Mr. Bullard

Will the Minister bear in mind that the latest time for general posting there is now, I am told, 4.45, which is a very early time indeed, and letters must be posted even earlier on Fridays in order to ensure general delivery the following morning? Will my hon. Friend endeavour to see that a much later arrangement for posting than this can be inaugurated.

Miss Pike

We are looking into this, and I hope that we shall be able to meet the hon. Gentleman's point.
