HC Deb 21 March 1961 vol 637 c197
33. Mr. Hoy

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he is aware of the concern of the parents of pupils attending Moray House Demonstration School regarding its threatened closure; and if he will make a statement.

The Joint Under-Secretary of State for Scotland (Mr. R. Brooman-White)

My right hon. Friend appreciates the concern felt by the parents of the pupils affected about the proposals which the governors of the college have made to him for the closure of the secondary department of the demonstration school. He is considering this very difficult matter with great care and will take into account the views of all parties before he reaches a decision, which he hopes to do very shortly.

Mr. Hoy

Is the hon. Member aware that this has been going on for a long time? Although I would not wish to make him hurry if that would injure the parents and the children, I hope that he will soon be able to come to a decision in the matter.

Mr. Brooman-White

We hope to do so.
