§ Lords Amendment: In page 17, line 46, leave out "that section" and insert "those subsections".
Mr. VaneI beg to move, That this House doth agree with the Lords in the said Amendment.
This Amendment is similar to the last, in that we are deleting a singular and inserting a plural, but the circumstances are quite different and I will try to explain. This also is a drafting Amendment and is consequential upon one made by the Select Committee of the House of Commons. That Committee 1626 inserted an additional subsection (2) to Clause 17 and made a consequential change to Clause 23 in line 43, where the words "section seventeen" were replaced by reference to subsections (1) and (3). However, a consequential Amendment to line 46 was not changed in the same way and this Amendment puts that right in order to make the Clause read consistently.
