HC Deb 25 January 1961 vol 633 cc146-7
11. Mr. Denzil Freeth

asked the Minister of Transport what plans he has for improving the road junction of A.303 and A.343 at Weyhill, Hampshire.

Mr. Hay

I assume that my hon. Friend is referring to the junction of A.303 and A.342 at Weyhill. To improve visibility, a building was demolished and the carriageway realigned at this junction in 1959. We have no further plans for it

Mr. Freeth

I apologise to my hon. Friend for the typist's error in the Question. Is he aware of the very dangerous situation where the two main roads converge art the western end of the village of Weyhill and of the very strong local opinion that there should be a roundabout at this junction?

Mr. Hay

No, I was not aware of that. I know the spot to which my hon. Friend refers, but I have not found it all that dangerous. In view of the fact that he has brought it to my attention, I will have the matter looked into.
