§ 30. Mr. Fletcherasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what instructions have been issued regarding the dress to be worn by Metropolitan Police officers when attending courts in the London area.
§ Mr. RentonOfficers of the Metropolitan Police, other than members of the C.I.D. or aids to C.I.D., are instructed to wear uniform when appearing in court to give evidence. Court officers, as opposed to officers giving evidence, wear plain clothes in the Metropolitan juvenile courts, and also in other juvenile courts in the Metropolitan Police District where the justices have so requested.
§ Mr. FletcherIn the light of the clear breach of discipline revealed in the recent case of Meek v. Fleming, as reported in The Times of 7th March, when the Lords Justices of the Court of Appeal had certain observations to make, would the hon. and learned Gentleman say whether any disciplinary proceedings are contemplated against Fleming?
§ Mr. RentonI cannot say without notice.
