HC Deb 04 May 1960 vol 622 cc1068-9
28. Mr. Mayhew

asked the Secretary of State for War whether he is yet in a position to make a statement on the report of the Hutchison Committee.

Mr. Soames

The report is being studied and I will make a statement as soon as I can; but because of the amount of detail this may not be for some weeks.

Mr. Mayhew

Is the right hon. Gentleman aware that there is increasing anxiety about the volume of work being done at Woolwich Arsenal? Could he give an assurance that no action will be taken without full consultation with the trade unions?

Mr. Soames

Yes, Sir. All interested parties will be consulted before the Report is implemented.
