§ 27. Mr. Croninasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will indicate his policy on industrial investment, in view of the large increase in Government spending, the recent and prospective 223 increases in wages, and the increasing diversion of goods from the export to the home market.
Mr. AmoryI am expecting to be able to make a statement on these and related matters in the not too distant future.
§ Mr. CroninIn the meantime, will the right hon. Gentleman bear in mind that during the last Parliament there was prolonged stagnation of industrial investment, and, if he has to take action to counteract the inflationary situation which is now developing, will he at all costs avoid action interfering with investment?
