I beg to move, in page 13, line 36, at the end to insert: and to interview any person resident therein in private". The effect of this Amendment is to give any officer, authorised by the Secretary of State for Scotland or by the registration authority to inspect residential homes for persons suffering from mental disorder, the right to interview any resident in the home in private. The Amendment also meets an undertaking given during the Committee stage discussions.
