Friend's dilemma and difficulty in this matter, may I ask him if he is aware that many people will consider that the treatment of these men, against whom no evidence is offered by the Corporation, will not produce a very satisfactory labour relationship in the future?
§ Mr. SandysI realise the difficulty, but I must repeat that in my view the management of its staff is the responsibility of the Corporation. In any case, I have no power to issue directions on a matter of this kind.
