§ 23. Mr. Rankinasked the Minister of Aviation what consultations he has had about the provision of further air terminals in Glasgow; and if he will make a statement on the position.
§ Mr. RipponNone, Sir.
§ Mr. RankinIs the hon. Gentleman aware that there have been many reports about Glasgow Corporation and a company called Grampian Holdings proposing to build two air terminals in the City of Glasgow? Has the hon. Gentleman heard nothing about that, and, if not, will he say what purpose there can be in having three terminals—two new terminals to be built—in a city which needs new houses more than it needs new terminals?
§ Mr. RipponLike the hon. Gentleman, I have read the reports in the Scottish Press. The position is that this is not a matter for any Ministry initiative. In answer to his question, no approaches have been made to us about these projects.
