asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he has reached a decision with regard to the export of the Palliser Cook Journals; and if he will make a statement.

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he has reached a decision on the application for a licence to export the manuscript log book and journal of Captain Cook.

In view of the significance of parts of these journals to New Zealand, will my right hon. Friend give his personal attention to the matter before any licence is issued?
