§ 27. Mr. A. Robertsasked the Paymaster-General what general directions he has given with a view to bringing closer liaison between the National Coal Board, the Central Electricity Authority and the Gas Council.
§ Sir I. HorobinNone, Sir.
§ Mr. RobertsIs the hon. Gentleman aware that his Answers are very evasive? Leaders in the National Coal Board and the electricity and gas industries are far from satisfied with the present position. Does not the hon. Gentleman realise that more should be done to give a definite lead, particularly to the National Coal Board?
§ Sir I. HorobinI do not know how far the hon. Gentleman is authorised by the National Coal Board to make that statement. I can only say that relations between the Coal Board and the Ministry since I have been at the Ministry have certainly not deteriorated and are very close indeed.
