§ 7. Mr. Biggs-Davisonasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what reports he has received from the Truce Supervision Authorities, or other sources, about the reoganisation by the United Arab Republic of the fedayeen bands for raids against the State of Israel; and whether he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Ormsby-GoreNo such reports have been received.
§ Mr. JannerWill the right hon. Gentleman keep a very careful watch on this problem because, as he is undoubtedly aware, these fedayeen bands were responsible for very serious damage in Israel which resulted in events which otherwise might not have taken place? Will he keep an eye on the position and ensure that the United Nations is informed of any steps taken to revive these bands?
§ Mr. Ormsby-GoreYes. The United Nations has itself machinery which enables it to keep a very close eye on it. There is no evidence that the fedayeen as such have been operating in Israel recently.
