HC Deb 09 March 1959 vol 601 cc859-60
8. Mr. G. Jeger

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what alterations have been made in the regulations relating to visas between Spain and the United Kingdom; and how far these affect Gibraltar.

Mr. R. Allan

No alterations have been made since 1957.

Mr. Jeger

Is it possible that in the foreseeable future there will be some alterations, as have been forecast? If so, will the hon. Gentleman guarantee that there will be no discrimination against the loyal Colony of Gibraltar in any new agreement that is reached?

Mr. Allan

I quite accept the last sentence of the hon. Member's supplementary. The Spanish Government are well aware of the extent to which we deplore the restrictions imposed on the La Linea frontier.
