Agnewasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will make a statement on the progress achieved in putting into operation those 1387 remedial measures for arresting the erosion of the banks of the River Severn towards which he announced in June. 1958, a grant under the Land Drainage Act, 1930.
§ Mr. John HareI am informed by the Severn River Board that it has encountered many obstacles in getting this work started, including the need to re-organise the arrangements for the supply of stone which will in future be carried to the sites by water. Satisfactory progress is now being made in this preliminary work and the main revetment work will begin shortly.
