HC Deb 12 February 1959 vol 599 cc1325-6
5. Mr. Foot

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what sums of money were paid or land allocated by the Kenya Police or other officers of the Kenya Government to any of the witnesses for the Crown in the case of The Queen versus Jomo Kenyatta and others; and whether he will state the names of such witnesses and the amount paid and extent of the land allocated in each case.

Mr. J. Amery

Since this Question relates to matters which are being considered judicially in the trial of Mr. Rawson Macharia in Kenya, perhaps the hon. and learned Member will put down another Question at a later date.

Mr. Foot

Will the hon. Gentleman undertake then to give the House the fullest information on this matter?

Mr. Amery

I think that I must first see the Question that is put down at the time.
