§ 56. Dame Irene Wardasked the Prime Minister on what date he received from President Eisenhower, following upon his recent official conversations in the United 1469 States of America, confirmation that the award of a contract by the Tennessee Valley Authority to Messrs. C. A. Parsons, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, would be upheld; and if he will make a statement.
§ The Prime MinisterMy hon. Friend will remember the reply which I gave her on 25th March. I have no reason to believe that this award is not firm.
§ Dame Irene WardIs my right hon. Friend aware that the information has now been released that the C. A. Parsons' contract is signed, sealed and delivered? Will he accept the appreciation of a great many people that in the conversations he had when in the United States he was at any rate able to get that rather difficult situation put right?
§ The Prime MinisterI am very glad to hear that that is the case.
