§ 37. Mr. Iremongerasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what further recent representations have been made to him concerning the sale to small children of toy flick knives; and if he will make a statement about the replies he has made.
§ Mr. R. A. ButlerNo representations have been made to me about the sale of toy flick knives.
§ Mr. IremongerIs my right hon. Friend aware that there is concern about the sale of these toys, because they are regarded as putting wrong ideas into the minds of children? Will he give the matter his consideration?
§ Mr. ButlerI have investigated these knives, which appear to have a black plastic handle and a blade of soft polythene. It would be very difficult to legislate, and I think that we must consider the Bill which is being introduced to deal with real flick knives before we consider toy ones.
