HC Deb 11 November 1958 vol 595 cc172-3
14. Mr. Nairn

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what steps he is taking to review the existing law on mental illness in Scotland; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Maclay

As I indicated in reply to a Question by the hon. Member for Greenock (Dr. Dickson Mabon) on 4th November, the Scottish Health Services Council is considering the application to Scotland of the recommendations of the Royal Commission on Mental Health in England and Wales. I expect to have a final report from the Council early next year.
