NichollsThe Hydraulics Research Station of the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research at Wallingford is studying silting in estuaries in two ways—by investigating and advising on specific problems, when asked to do so by the interested authorities, and by a programme of background research based on field studies and an analysis of surveys over periods of years.
