HC Deb 06 November 1958 vol 594 c1100
39. Mr. Jay

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what help has been given up till now, under the Distribution of Industry (Industrial Finance) Act, 1958, to firms seeking to establish factories in areas of specially high unemployment.

Mr. Erroll

Since the Act came into operation 191 preliminary inquiries have resulted in 32 firm and eligible applications. Of these, 2 are being accepted, I has been rejected and the remaining 29 are still being examined.
