HC Deb 21 May 1958 vol 588 c1275
14. Mr. Bingham

asked the Postmaster-General what plans he has for improving the Post Office facilities in Garston, Liverpool; and when they will be put into effect.

Mr. Marples

The present post office at St. Mary's Road, Garston, is much too small and we are replacing it with a larger, modern office in Speke Road. This should provide excellent facilities for many years to come. We hope to open it in November. Meanwhile, delivery work for the Speke area will be transferred to another new office which is to be opened in Speke on 2nd June. A new district, Liverpool 24, will be created, and this should lead to a considerably improved delivery service throughout the area.
