§ 15. Mr. Brockwayasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies if he will now state what conclusions have been reached regarding the recommendations made in the Report of the United Nations Visiting Mission to Tanganyika.
§ Mr. Lennox-BoydThe Report is still under discussion in the Trusteeship Council.
§ Mr. BrockwayWill the right hon. Gentleman say when he is likely to be able to announce the conclusions of Her Majesty's Government on this matter, as the Government of Tanganyika have already indicated their attitude?
§ Mr. Lennox-BoydI agree with the observations of the Government of Tanganyika. As the hon. Gentleman knows, a copy of their observations has been put in the Library. I have not myself control over the timetable of the Trusteeship Council.
§ Mr. BrockwayThe question is what conclusions have been reached regarding recommendations? Those must be conclusions by Her Majesty's Government and not by the Trusteeship Council. Can the right hon. Gentleman say what are the conclusions of Her Majesty's Government?
§ Mr. Lennox-BoydI am sure that the hon. Gentleman would be among the first to say that it would be courteous to the Trusteeship Council to wait until it had made its full comments.
