§ 10. Mr. Skeffingtonasked the Secretary of State for Air what proportion of the wives of Royal Air Force Service men living with their husbands abroad are registered as Service voters.
§ The Secretary of State for Air (Mr. George Ward)Approximately 40 per cent.
§ Mr. SkeffingtonIs the right hon. Gentleman aware that this is a very low proportion, and that my information is that quite a number of wives of officers and men do not get the forms? Will he see if something can be done so that these unfortunate people are not deprived of their civic rights?
§ Mr. WardEvery year an Air Ministry order and a notice board information leaflet are issued drawing attention to the date by which people should apply if they want to be included in the register 1335 for the following year, and the leaflet includes a paragraph relating specifically to what wives should do.
