HC Deb 01 July 1958 vol 590 c1057
17. Mr. Hector Hughes

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland, as representing the Lord President of the Council, what official scientific observations have been made recently as to the level of strontium 90 from fall-out in the north-east of Scotland or carried by winds or otherwise to the north-east of Scotland; and if he will tabulate the results of these observations, stating by whom, when, and where they were made.

The Joint Under-Secretary of State for Scotland (Lord John Hope)

Regular samples are now being taken of various biological materials, including foodstuffs, over the whole of the United Kingdom and including north-eastern Scotland. The results of this survey will be published periodically, and will, as at present intended, include references to places and dates.
