HC Deb 01 July 1958 vol 590 cc1060-1
26. Sir W. Anstruther-Gray

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he will give figures to indicate what progress is being made towards eliminating from Scottish roads black spots where accidents are continually taking place.

Mr. N. Macpherson

On 18th June, 108 smaller road schemes to improve dangerous or inadequate local conditions, each costing under £100,000, were in progress on trunk and classified roads in Scotland. The total estimated cost of these schemes is £3,163,000. They do not include schemes on classified roads costing less than £10,000 each, which do not require my right hon. Friend's specific approval, or schemes on unclassified roads.
