HC Deb 23 January 1958 vol 580 c1242
44. Mr. Hector Hughes

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies what representations he has had from the Sierra Leone Government as to their financial and other problems; and what contribution he has made, or intends to make, to their solution.

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

The Sierra Leone Government have not sought my help in financial matters. I am, of course, in continuous touch with them on all problems on which my help may be of value.

Mr. Hughes

Have the Government of Sierra Leone not approached the Secretary of State concerning a study of their problems, which are growing in urgency? Will the right hon. Gentleman expedite a solution of them?

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

We are in continual touch and on the best of terms.
