§ 20. Mr. Scholefield Allenasked the Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster if he is satisfied that the arrangements made by Her Majesty's Government at the Brussels Fair are adequate, and that the activities of the interested Departments have been properly co-ordinated.
Dr. HillYes, Sir. The Commissioner-General, Sir John Balfour, is responsible for the co-ordination of the United Kingdom section. He is in close consultation with the Central Office of Information (who are responsible for organising the Government Pavilion), with the Foreign Office, the Board of Trade, the British Council and other interested Departments, and with the Federation of British Industries who are responsible for the British Industry Pavilion.
§ Mr. Scholefield AllenMay I take this opportunity to congratulate those responsible for the admirable and exciting British pavilion which is to be erected in Brussels? Is the right hon. Gentleman satisfied that full use will be made of the pavilion? Is he getting the full co-operation of the B.B.C. in this venture?
Dr. HillI am grateful to the hon. and learned Member for what he has said about the pavilion. It has been an expensive project, costing over £400,000, but I hope it will be found to be very worthwhile. The Commissioner-General has received the widest co-operation from all concerned.
