HC Deb 04 December 1958 vol 596 cc1348-9
25. Mr. E. Johnson

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he will consult the Commissioner of Police for the Metropolis with a view to prohibiting the parking of cars in Whitehorse Street, Piccadilly.

Mr. Renton

My right hon. Friend is informed by the Commissioner of Police that he is considering, in consultation with the other authorities concerned, whether any additional restrictions are desirable in this street.

Mr. Johnson

Is my hon. Friend aware that if a van stops to unload in this very short and narrow street it becomes completely impassable? Is he also aware that there are two garages in the vicinity at which motorists could leave their cars?

Mr. Renton

I will ask the Commissioner to bear those facts in mind.
