HC Deb 27 May 1957 vol 571 c156

Order for Second Reading read.

9.59 p.m.

The Solicitor-General (Sir Harry Hylton-Foster)

I beg to move, That the Bill be now read a Second time.

I am under duty to draw the attention of the House to a provision in paragraph 7 of the First Schedule, which relates to disqualification from membership of this House. I should explain that owing to the sequence of dates, the passing of the House of Commons Disqualification Act makes no provision now appropriate, and it is proposed in due course to put that right in Committee.

Question put and agreed to.

Bill accordingly read a Second time.

Bill committed to a Committee of the whole House.—[Mr. Wills.]

Committee Tomorrow.
