HC Deb 19 March 1957 vol 567 cc197-8
25. Mr. Hannan

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether the Scottish Special Housing Association have now completed their technical investigation into the flooding of access paths to houses erected by them at Cadder Scheme, Maryhill; and when the necessary remedial work will commence.

Mr. Maclay

Remedial work, which I hope will prevent a recurrence of the flooding of the access paths to these houses, has been completed.

Mr. Hannan

Whilst appreciating that reply, may I ask whether the right hon. Gentleman is aware that representations in this matter have been made over the past three years? Since there has been such a delay in the matter, will he take steps to see that no such delays occur in similar cases in future?

Mr. Maclay

I regret that there has been a delay. I know that there was a little delay because there had to be consultation between the Scottish Special Housing Association and the Glasgow Corporation's Parks Department, but I doubt whether the delay has been quite as long as is indicated in the Question.
