HC Deb 24 July 1957 vol 574 c413
37. Mr. Ronald Bell

asked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation how many accidents have occurred in the last two years on the stretch of A.412 between the top of Southlands Hill and the starting point of the 30 m.p.h. speed restriction at the village of Iver Heath, Buckinghamshire.

Mr. Nugent

Eight accidents involving personal injury. Two persons were killed and thirteen injured.

Mr. Bell

Is not this rather a high proportion of accidents on this small stretch of road? Would my hon. Friend consider extending the restricted stretch of road?

Mr. Nugent

Consideration has been given to that, but we do not feel that the situation merits that measure. I am glad to say that the accident record this year is a good deal better, and to date there have been no accidents involving personal injury there.
