asked the Under-Secretary of State for Commonwealth Relations when the Report from the Commonwealth Economic Committee on raw material development may be expected.

Mr. Alport

The Commonwealth Economic Committee has informed me that the drafting of its Report is at an advanced stage. When it is completed, the Committee, in accordance with its established practice, will send the Report to all Commonwealth Governments for their approval and for their agreement to publication. The right hon. Member will appreciate that these Governments will wish to give close examination to a Report of this importance. We are most anxious that there should be no undue delay in its publication, but the Commonwealth Economic Committee cannot, as yet, estimate the date.
