40. Mr. Emrys Hughes

asked the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation if, in view of the loss on Prestwick Airport and the need for reducing this loss by increasing the revenue, he will use his powers for the compulsory purchase of the hotel.

Mr. Watkinson

The hotel at Prestwick Airport is already owned by the State.

Mr. Hughes

Could the Minister assure us that all the profits of the hotel go to the State?

Mr. Watkinson

The profits of the hotel are received by my Ministry through the concessionaire, Scottish Aviation Limited.
